Travel advisory
All foreign participants need a valid visa to visit India. A tourist visa will be sufficient to attend the school. Please contact your nearest Indian embassy/consulate to apply for the visa. Since December and January are Chennai's peak music season, which attracts large crowd from overseas, we advice you to book your tickets as soon as possible.
The IIT Madras is a residential institute located in the southern part of Chennai city. The campus is about 10 km from the Chennai Airport and 12 km from the Chennai Central Railway station and is well connected by buses. The main entrance is located on Chennai's Sardar Patel Road, Adyar. Click here for further details on location of IITM within Chennai. All speakers and participants will be accomodated either in the Bose-Einstein Guest House, or at Taramani Guest House, both located inside the IIT Madras campus.
